Thousands of Nigerians returns home to their town Gamboru which has been conquered by the military from terrorists' hostage.

Boko Haram captured Gamboru in Borno state in August 2014, forcing thousands of the residents to flee across the border to the town of Fotokol on the other bank of the river in northern Cameroon.
With the joint forces of Cameroon, Chad and Nigeria, the region which has been a major target of Boko Haram since 2009 was conquered from the terrorist.

Although the town is a shadow of itself with houses burnt and everywhere desolate, the refugees expressed confidence in the military and courage to return to their home and start life anew.
The return of the refugees is being coordinated by Cameroonian soldiers‎ and local officials in Gamboru, the returning residents said.
