The Theft of Africa's Uniqueness

The identity of a people is their uniqueness. Culture as the totality of people's way of life is a trademark of each individual group of people unique in their dressing, language, music, tradition and so on. Culture defines each entity. That is why the loss of culture is a loss of identity because we can know a person by his or culture which could be visible or non-visible. Thus, Culture is the uniqueness of a people.

Before western intrusion into the black soil, Africa had its uniqueness. A culture solidly rooted in the traditions and customs of Africa. What made the black black is not just in their complexion, rather in the mind of a black man. A mind of courage, hard work, persistence and self-pride. The African man has the heart of a lion, the daring attitude to life and challenges. That is the spirit of Africa, the pride of self and dignity in originality. Thus Africans were mentally developed with high IQ but just lacked the resources to make things work.
At the advent of the western world into Africa, the concepts of "inferior"  "fetish" "ugly" were introduced to the Africans. A brain-washing of self-worth to the people who upon colonization were mentally colonized into thinking that white is "better"  "superior"  "gods". And so even after colonization, the post-colonization effects and neo-colonization impacts are yet to leave Africa. 

Africa's uniqueness is the self belief in Blackness. The pride of African nation. The sense of satisfaction in home-made. This has been robbed. Africa has lost the dignity in originality.  English is now better than indigenous languages, even made official language. Foreign wears and products are more patronized than home-made. A trip to western world is seen as a great accomplishment of life. Virtually in all sector of the economy there are "white experts" to handle technicalities. African countries are either Pro-west or Pro-east. Africanism is eroded from the spirit of Africans.

Therefore we must regain our consciousness as blacks. We are blacks and proud blacks. Africa is the spice of the world. The sense of originality must return back. Only then can Africa's uniqueness become an identity.
